Glen Andrew de Vera is a Research Scientist in MIT’s Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Plata Lab. His research connects environmental analytical chemistry, water treatment, and public health, with a focus on measuring and transforming contaminants in natural and engineered water systems. His work includes oxidative treatment processes for mitigating disinfection byproduct formation and emerging water contaminants. Growing up in the Philippines, he developed a personal and scientific commitment to improving water quality in resource-limited settings.
