- Assistant Professor
- Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
Sixian You is an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She specializes in developing advanced label-free imaging techniques for biological systems, with a focus on plant-microbe interactions. You received her PhD in biophotonics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2019. Her research centers on creating novel optical microscopy methods that enable non-invasive, high-resolution visualization of cellular and metabolic processes in living organisms. By applying these techniques to study how beneficial bacteria colonize plant roots, she aims to advance sustainable agriculture practices.
