Saurabh Amin is the Edmund K. Turner Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at MIT and Co-Director of the Operations Research Center. His research focuses on the design and operation of networked infrastructure systems (including energy, transportation, and water) with emphasis on optimization, strategic decision-making, and resilience under uncertainty. He develops methods that combine network modeling, machine learning, and mechanism design to improve how critical infrastructure systems are planned and managed. His work spans both theoretical foundations and practical applications addressing sustainability and security challenges in infrastructure systems.
