Sarah Williams

Sarah Williams is an associate professor of technology and urban planning at MIT, where she directs the Civic Data Design Lab and the Leventhal Center for Advanced Urbanism. Williams merges her expertise in computation and design to develop communication strategies that highlight urban policy, a process called "Data Action," which is also the title of her book published by MIT Press. She co-founded Envelope.city, a software that visualizes and modifies zoning in NYC. Williams’ work has been exhibited at venues like the Guggenheim and MoMA; she has received numerous awards, including being named a top technology planner by Metropolis Magazine.
