Reet K. Tiwari

Reet K. Tiwari joined Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar in March 2017 and is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at IIT Ropar in Punjab, India. Before joining IIT Ropar, from 2013-2017 he worked as scientist in the field of Cryosphere at Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, India. He received an M.Sc. degree in geology and an M.Tech. degree in remote sensing and GIS, in 2007 and 2009, respectively. He earned PhD from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in 2015; his work there focused on remote sensing-based studies of the Chhota-Shigri glacier in the Himalayas. Among his areas of research specialization are remote sensing, GIS, digital image processing, land use and land cover mapping, and information extraction techniques in the field of glaciology and natural resources. He is member of academic societies such as the Indian Science Congress Association (Life Member), Indian Society of Remote Sensing (Life Member) and European Geosciences Union (Life Member), IEEE and ASCE.
