Parwinder Singh, PhD (Counseling Psychology) is an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar, Punjab (India). His research work includes devising, executing and evaluating psychosocial interventions involved in understanding and targeting the social-cognitive aspects of adaptive and maladaptive behavioral patterns and behavior modification. His work explores risk as well as protective factors associated with specific behavioral phenomena, and examines what constitutes appropriate interventions.  Currently, he is working on health risk behaviors among adolescents, depression among women, and emotion regulation. Psychological capacity-building for farmers to help prevent suicidal tendencies is another area of focus.
