Joanne Tingey-Holyoak, PhD, is an associate professor of accounting, as well as the Stream Leader of Accountability and Governance in the Centre for Markets, Values, and Inclusion (CMVI), and Program Director: Accounting all at the University of South Australia. Since completing a PhD in agricultural water management on an Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery Project in 2012, she has produced over 70 publications based on original studies on how to use accounting frameworks to improve agricultural decision-making, including through developing better irrigator decision-making tools and dam management policy.

Tingey-Holyoak is an Associate Editor of Australasian Journal of Water Resources, Sustainability Accounting, Management and Policy Journal, and Accounting Forum, and has received several distinctions, such as the 2013 Emerald Social Impact Award and the 2020 Literati Award. She is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), and Certified Practicing Agriculturalist (CPAg). She has several long-term industry collaborations, a global World Bank study, a Wine Australia project, and projects with all the major accountancy professional bodies, including a current CPA Australia project investigating climate change impacts on food sector infrastructure.
