Ickkshaanshu Sonkar is an assistant professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar where he has been since December 2019. He received his PhD in civil engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in 2019. Dr. Sonkar teaches and conducts research and projects in water resources engineering. His research interest broadly lies in soil-water-plant interaction. Much of his expertise has been on root water uptake modeling and characterization of root and soil hydraulic properties. He is actively involved in the research that focuses on salt and water stress on crop growth and production.
