Alison Rose

  • Independent Advisor, Food Systems & Climate

Alison Rose brings nearly two decades of experience advancing food systems and climate initiatives across academic and international research institutions. She most recently helped build the Columbia Climate School’s inaugural food systems program, working across disciplines to shape collaborative research agendas and institutional strategy.

Previously, she spent eight years supporting CGIAR initiatives, first the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) and then its World Bank-supported successor, Accelerating Impacts of CGIAR Climate Research for Africa (AICCRA). In both, she worked across technical and coordination teams to strengthen climate services for agriculture and support multi-country implementation. Prior to that, she spent eight years as the Manager of Research Programs at the Agriculture and Food Security Center, also based at Columbia University’s Earth Institute, supporting agriculture projects in sub-Saharan Africa. She currently serves on the Advisory Board of TABLE, contributing to global dialogue on evidence, tradeoffs, and transformation in food systems.

Her work focuses on helping complex initiatives move from concept to implementation, aligning research, partners, and strategy to support food systems transformation.
