Mia Jeffries is the Communications and Project Assistant for the Abdul Latif Jameel Water and Food Systems Lab (J-WAFS) at MIT. Mia assists in the creation and dissemination of communications produced by J-WAFS, and supports research, analysis, reporting, social media outreach, and event management.

As a third-year student, Mia joined J-WAFS in July 2025 through Northeastern University’s esteemed co-op program. She is pursuing a combined BA in English and Communications, as well as an MS in Media Advocacy. This is Mia’s first co-op at Northeastern and she is eager to play a role in the distribution and communication of important information regarding the world’s food and water systems, revelations in environmental science, and impacts of climate change. In her free time, Mia enjoys running, reading, and exploring Boston.
