Lawrence Susskind is the Ford Professor of Urban and Environmental Planning at MIT and the Vice-Chair of the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School. His expertise centers on strategies for public engagement, conflict management, and participatory action research. He received his Master of City Planning from MIT in 1970 and his Ph.D. in Urban Planning from MIT in 1973. He has been the lead investigator on the MIT American Water Shut-offs Project for the past two years and an expert on water governance and public dispute resolution for almost fifty years.
